FROM PASTOR LIVINGSTON
“I’m Serious!!!” Normally those words would not make you smile. But when it comes from your 5 year old granddaughter you have to smile. When she says ‘I’m serious’ about something, she is serious! Most 5 year olds are full of fun and frivolity, and ours is too, but sometimes there are things that she takes seriously. I am glad she does. I wish more of us took important things seriously. We need to take our health more seriously. It takes a lot of discipline to eat right, exercise, and get enough rest. We need to take our home life more seriously. Keeping the communication lines open and making good quality time for the family is critical to the emotional health of those nearest to us. We need to take seriously our responsibility to provide for our loved ones. Do you think the Bible is serious when it says, ‘If a man will not work, neither should he eat!’? (II Thess 3:10)
Mostly, I wish we would take our faith more seriously. Many people have a faith based on convenience. We like our names on the roll, and we don’t mind showing up if we don’t have anything better to do; but we have a hard time getting serious about our relationship with the Lord. It is impossible to give our best to the Lord, or experience the best He has for us unless we are serious about our commitment to Christ. Let’s get serious about our faith…I’m Serious!!!
See you Sunday with a smile on your face, a Bible in your hand, and a friend by your side.
Your Pastor, Robert
