My favorite response to those who ask how things are going is, ‘Fast and Furious!’ And it usually is an accurate description. The summer has flown by and the kids are back in school. Activities at church seem to always be in high gear. In August our youth group went to Caswell for a week of worship and study.
They gave an inspiring report on Aug. 14. With the WMU leading, our church sponsored a Blood Drive collecting 36 units of the gift of life. They also welcomed the men from Bethel Colony for a meal, fellowship and inspiring worship, and they sponsored a book bag and clothes give away. The Children’s Activity Committee sponsored a ‘back to school jamboree’ on the 27th, and the adult choir participated in the annual Praise Sing. Whew! I told you it has been busy, and that doesn’t cover everything.
September is here and it, too, looks to be full of wonderful ministry opportunities. Highlighting the month will be our annual Homecoming Celebration on September 11 with Rev. Ron Winkler, preaching.
Make plans to participate in this great celebration of the life and ministry of our church. Also we are excited about our Fall Revival scheduled for September 25-28. Rev. Sam Craven, pastor of Union Grove Baptist Church will be our guest preacher.
Please be much in prayer for these services and be sure to help us invite everyone to this important event.
Finally, our NC Missions Offering is received in September. Pray, prepare and give so North Carolina Baptists can share the love on Christ in every way we have been called to share. Blessings and I look forward to seeing you on Sunday with a Bible in your hand, a song in your heart, and a friend by your side.
Your Pastor, Robert
