Edith Miller Miller, 94, of
Hollywood
Ridge Road, Lenoir, passed away at her residence Friday, June 4, 2010,
following
a brief illness.
She was born in Caldwell County to the late Joseph Lee
Miller and Mary Robbins Miller on March 16, 1916.
In
addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl V. Miller; a
daughter,
Mary Edith Miller; a grandson, Scott Miller; and a son-in-law, Bobie
Greene;
five brothers, Isaac, Robert, Lawrence, Johnny and Billy Miller; three
sisters,
Loretta Beach, Iona Austin and Milbin Story.
Mrs. Miller was a
homemaker
and the oldest member of Yadkin
Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School,
was a member of the adult choir, and the Women’s Missionary Union.
She
is
survived by two sons, Joe Miller and wife Judy, and Tim Miller and wife Linda;
two daughters, Myra Greene, and Alice Clark and husband Jimmy, all of
Lenoir;
seven grandchildren, Kim McClure, Susan Miller, Kent Greene and wife
Elisa,
Jennifer Winkler and husband Ron, Carla Reid and husband Terry, Lynne
Clark and
Jamie Clark; 10 great-grandchildren, Carl Greene, Caroline McClure,
Daryan
Miller, Jeffrey Greene, Joseph
Reid, Anna Rose Reid, Emmaline Reid, Caleb
Greene, Carson Smith and Courtney Smith.
The family will receive
friends
at Pendry’s Funeral Home, Sunday, June 6, 2010, from 7-8:30 p.m. and
other times
at the residence.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 7,
2010, at
4 p.m. at Yadkin Baptist
Church with the Rev.
Robert Livingston officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers
will be
Kevin Story, Jeff Story, Roy Miller, William Hyatt, Herbert Miller and Terry
Reid. Honorary pallbearer will be her family deacon, Roy Barlow.
