Claude E. Griffin
Claude E. Griffin, Jr., 71, of Lenoir
died
Monday, May 31, 2010 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative
Care.
Mr. Griffin was born in Caldwell County to the
late Claude E. Griffin, Sr. and Ollie Kirby Griffin. In addition to his
parents,
he was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Coffey, and
daughter-in-law
Nancy Griffin.
He was a retired truck driver with
Broyhill Furniture
and a member of Yadkin
Baptist Church.
Survivors
include his wife of 53 years, Charlotte Baker Griffin; two sons, Ronnie
and
Chris Griffin,
both of Lenoir; a daughter, Joan Osborne and husband Kenneth of
Linville; sisters, Ann Anderson and Lois Conley, both of Lenoir; a
brother, Mack
Griffin of Morganton; grandchildren, Amber Hughes of Spruce Pine, Zachary
Osborne of Linville and Breauna Stiener of Fla., great grandchildren,
Clinton
Stiener, Jr of Fla., and Alyssa Hughes of Spruce
Pine.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 4,
2010 at 2 p.m. at Yadkin Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Livingston
and the
Rev. Gary James officiating. Burial will follow at Yadkin Baptist Church
cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the
church Friday two hours prior to the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tom McCrary, Ronnie Griffin, Bobby
Hughes,
Zachary Osborne, Charles
Stevens and Gene Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be
the Happy Valley Ruritan members and Ushers of Yadkin Baptist
Church
